Avibactam — impurities and related standards
All 4 Avibactam-related compounds in the CATO catalogue, listed with their CAS numbers, molecular formulae and stock status. If the compound you need is not listed, send the structure or the impurity designation and we will check whether it can be synthesised or isolated.
Avibactam is a non-beta-lactam, diazabicyclooctane beta-lactamase inhibitor used in combination with cephalosporin antibacterials to restore their activity against beta-lactamase-producing Gram-negative pathogens. Chemically it is a strained bicyclic molecule carrying a sulfoxy group and an amide, features that shape its related-substance work: ring-opened and desulfated species, hydrolysis products and stereochemical variants are all plausible impurities, and nitrosamine considerations can apply to the synthetic route where relevant. The avibactam entries on this page are non-compendial impurities supplied as individual characterised standards, useful for process-impurity profiling, peak identification and the development of stability-indicating methods.
