Roxithromycin — impurities and related standards
All 4 Roxithromycin-related compounds in the CATO catalogue, listed with their CAS numbers, molecular formulae and stock status. If the compound you need is not listed, send the structure or the impurity designation and we will check whether it can be synthesised or isolated.
Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibacterial derived from erythromycin A and used for respiratory tract, skin and urogenital infections. It is prepared by converting the erythromycin precursor into an oxime ether, and the semi-synthetic sequence together with the drug's acid sensitivity generates its characteristic impurities: related macrolides and oxime ether variants formed during manufacture, and degradation products appearing under acidic aqueous conditions. The standards collected on this page are the EP-designated roxithromycin impurities, each provided as a single, structurally defined lot for pharmacopoeial related-substance testing, peak assignment in impurity profiles, and method development work in pharmaceutical analysis.
